The Hydrologist

Where the cohort prizes theory, this one was pressure-tested in the field. Worn, by her own monitoring-and-evaluation log, across an 89-hour rotation and the microbiology that adjudicated it, it arrives less as a claim than as evidence — turbidity low, residual within tolerance, the safe-storage vessel sealed and chain-of-custody intact. One hesitates to call it efficacious; the data, demurely, decline to overstate. Caveat emptor: rigour, like the residual, lingers.
Hokusai, The Great Wave off Kanagawa (c. 1831)
Hokusai held an entire ocean in a single cresting curl; this holds a field season, and its chain of custody, in considerably less.
